Eagle & Rose

October 25, 2013 by Dave 3 Comments

Eagle & Rose wines were available for tasting in Napa Valley at A Dozen Vintners north of St. Helena until that tasting room closed down in early 2014. Should you enjoy the wines there or happen to taste them elsewhere you can make the long trek up to Pope Valley either via Angwin or the more southerly route starting with Highway 128 (Sage Canyon Road). This … [Read more...]

G Wine Cellars

G Wine Cellars is run by Garrett Ahnfeldt a Napa native who has long nurtured a passion for wine. He is not the only one in his family to own a Napa wine label; father Bruce ran the Ahnfeldt label with vintages produced from 2002 until 2015. Garrett grew up among grape vines - during our visit with him, he recalled getting an early start on his vineyard … [Read more...]

Ilsley Vineyards

Ilsley Vineyards are located in the Stags Leap District - the family roots date back over 100 years in the Napa Valley when patriarch of the family, Ernest Ilsley was born in Napa in 1912. His career was not in the wine industry but rather working at Basalt Rock Company (later became Kaiser Steel of Napa). Ernest and his wife Laura "June" Ilsley began … [Read more...]

Karl Lawrence Cellars was founded by three partners in 1991 including Ric Henry, his brother Bryan and winemaker Michael Trujillo (who we originally met and who is no longer involved with Karl Lawrence). Ric and Bryan met Michael at a Christmas party in 1989 and Brian suggested they make some wine. In 1990 Brian and Ric made two barrels of Zinfandel in … [Read more...]

Napa Cellars

October 25, 2013 by Dave 7 Comments

Napa Cellars

Napa Cellars is located about a 5 minute drive north of Yountville on the west side of Highway 29 directly across the driveway from Piazza del Dotto Winery. It is one of the first few wineries seen as one drives north from the town of Napa and a result of their location often makes a good stop for first time visitors to the valley. As of 2018 the focus of … [Read more...]
