Villa Hermosa Cellars

October 31, 2013 by Dave Leave a Comment

was founded by Art & Cherie Goulard in 2004 and their small 2.5 acre 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard is located high in the Howell Mountain Appellation at about 2000 feet. It is always a joy to visit some of the higher vineyards in Howell Mountain as the fresh natural aromas from the Manzanita and pine trees at this elevation are very reminiscent of what … [Read more...]

Cloud View Vineyards

October 31, 2013 by Dave 1 Comment

was located on Pritchard Hill in the Vaca Mountains, the mountain range that forms the Eastern boundary above Napa Valley. Note: this winery and vineyard land has been purchased by Continuum, a Mondavi Family partnership. However the Cloud View brand was not sold and plans call for additional vintages, possibly sourcing fruit from their former vineyards. We … [Read more...]

H. Posert & Son

H. Posert & Son. This wine label was originally founded by a father son team (Harvey Posert Sr. has since passed on). This is one of the smallest wineries you will find in the Napa Valley. Their entire vineyard is just under 1/2 an acre! The vineyard is located in the St. Helena appellation on the valley floor and is farmed organically. With a vineyard this … [Read more...]

Two Wives

October 31, 2013 by Dave Leave a Comment

We have visited many wineries during this project and every once in a while we stumble across a very unique winery. This is one of those wineries. It is run by Christine Madrigal and Elizabeth Trujillo. Each of the “two wives” is married to a Napa winemaker who in turn has their own individual wine labels/winery. Michael Trujillo runs Karl Lawrence and Chris … [Read more...]

Voces Cellars

October 25, 2013 by Dave 4 Comments

Voces Cellars

Voces Cellars is owned and operated by Fernando Candelario. We met up with him at Regusci Winery. His parents immigrated from Michoacán Mexico in 1979, a region of the country that a number of Mexican American vintners in the Napa Valley are originally from. Sometimes you don't know what path life will lead you on - Fernando certainly was not on a career … [Read more...]
