We last saw John a few months before his passing, he was eating alone at Press in St. Helena – we of course went up to him to say hi as did several other local patrons in the restaurant. To those other vintners who passed on in 2019, you will be sorely missed: Boots Brounstein, Basset Brown, Robert Craig, Jerre Sears, Paul Maroon, Tom Pelter, Ralph Wermuth ….. among others …
