Tonight (march 1, 2024) we are opening a 2004 1.5 liter Cab from Cafaro.

So FUNNY, My wife and I opened up a 1997 Cafaro Cab., last night as well. It showed BEAUTIFULLY !!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing this Rich – bummer Joe doesn’t make wine anymore – he’s old school with a great perspective on the valley based on his decades in the industry making wine here. Reading a book by Doug Shafer and came across his name several times.

Merely an FYI observation: for dinner tonight, opened a regular bottling 1997 Cafaro Cab.
With an hour of air, absolutely in a perfect place…..all the requisite elements singing for a twenty year old Napa Cab from a touted vintage.
Designated 13.4 alcohol, acid and fruit balanced…..sweet tannins. Great testament to a very capable winemaker……major kudos and thanks! A classic at a modest original tariff, nothing remotely overblown. My hanger steak on the grill awaits it’s ideal mate!
