The shop is small but the wines represented here are typically wines you will not find in your average wine shop. If you don't find what you are looking for try their online store or submit an online request. They have a very good selection of high end wines from local Napa wineries, a smaller selection of Sonoma County wines and some international representation. Tastings are typically held during select hours on Thursday, Fridays and Saturday. They are first and foremost a wine shop, but if you happen to be in the area during the aforementioned days, stop in for a tasting. A tasting is either in the wine shop next to their tasting counter - or if weather permits is outside in their patio. Private tastings can also be arranged. Call ahead. The tasting menu varies but there are usually some Napa wineries represented. After being in the business for a number of years they are experts on what type of wine is available and can tailor the tastings and selection to match your level of experience as well as varietals enjoyed. Also ask about their schedule of special Library and select winery events. Ever wanted to private label your wine with a label of your choice? Cal Wine offers this service - pick out the wine you want to label, choose one of their stock labels or design your own. This is a great idea for birthdays, weddings and other special occasions.
